TICA to Co-Host Meet the Breeds with AKC

In just a little over four months TICA will once again join forces with the American Kennel Club (AKC) to co-host Meet the Breeds at the Jacob Javitts Center in New York City on October 20-21, 2012!

Last year more than 40,000 pet lovers walked Meet the Breeds. Many had a chance to see breeds of cats that they’ve only heard about or seen on TV or in books! Like the Bengal (by the way, the Bengal breeders won “best display” last year!).

Cats also showed off “their style” on the (cat fashion) runway…jumped through hoops and weaved in and out of poles on the agility course…and sat patiently as cat lovers snapped photos of cats that they loved meeting!

If you can get to New York City, come see us! You can find more information about Meet the Breeds at www.meetthebreeds.org

Induna’s Fan Club in the Dallas Airport

This is the time of year when all of the regions hold their Annual Awards Banquets and recognize their winners from the previous season. TICA’s South Central Region held their banquet in Wichita Falls to honor the 2010-2011 winners and regional cat show one cat that was there was Induna, a Bengal.

On the way home they flew out of the DFW International Airport and Induna was a big hit with a local group of cheerleaders heading out of town for Cheerleading Camp!

Here, let’s Induna’s mom – Jan Harrell – tell the rest in her own words:
“Induna made the wait at the gate a little less boring for people of all ages. He mesmerized some small children that were on the floor playing with him and then he became ‘official mascot for the day’ for a group of cheerleaders heading off to Cheerleader Camp. They requested a photo with him to post on their Facebook page – he was happy to oblige (I was trying to not be in the photo).”

You can tell who is Jan — she’s the one with the TICA t-shirt on! Oh, and Induna is the one with the tail and spots!
