TICA Cats can’t talk, but their DNA can! That is why Basepaws has launched the first consumer genetic test for cats, looking at health and wellness, breed and ancestry, diet and even mental health. The genetic reports, with over 100 different markers ranging from common onset hereditary diseases to genetic variations affecting dietary needs, helps owners make smart decisions for their pets. Such a detailed genetic overview can save cat owners from unnecessary vet bills, especially as the cat ages. Look to genetics to bring a new level of understanding to how we take care of our pets.

Rise of Cat Men

By: ABC and author Haley Gleeson

Feline Fix by Five receives "TICA Endorsement of Excellence"

TICA

TICA The Marian’s Dream Fix by Five Months Program advocates that the age for spaying/neutering cats be moved back by just four to six weeks. This small change would remove the risk of unwanted litters by ensuring that these "tween" kittens will not have that accidental first "whoops" litter. A study by Andrew Rowan, Ph.D. projected that close to 90% of unwanted kittens and pups are born to mothers who would be spayed after the litter was born.
