Membership Update:
The Northeast Region is proud to have 971 members as of April 1, 2024 (54% Canada and 46% USA)! This is incredible and I am quite proud of the region for the strong growth we have seen!
We are also welcoming not 1, not 2, but 3 TICA Judge Trainees! A hearty congratulations to Tania Antenucci, Amanda Jimmink, and re-instated trainee Andre Grenier for joining the TICA Judging Program! We look forward to helping them on their journeys and seeing them behind the table soon enough! There is always room for more; I know at least 3 more members of the region who are interested in pursuing the masters education that becoming a TICA Judge requires and applaud all who step up to the plate. Becoming a TICA judge is no small feat and these individuals are engaging in one of the most rigorous and intensive training programs in the entire cat fancy and possibly animal fancy as a whole.
Northeast Regional Treasury:
We are once again in search of a new Northeast Regional Treasurer. The Region’s funds are currently custodied at M&T Bank, so we are looking for someone with access to those branches to add them to the existing account. Please reach out to Christian if interested.
Ahead of this year’s Regional Award program and in an effort to grow the region’s Treasury, we are asking all clubs to donate $1 per entry to the regional fund. We thank North East Regional Feline Fanciers for their commitment for $124 and Cat Lovers Of New England Cat Club for a $254 donation from their shows over the first half of this season. We continue to ask other clubs in the region to consider donations.

2024 End of Season Show: Catsachusetts is hosting the annual Northeast End of Season show on April 26-28, 2024 in Saugus, MA! Entries close on Monday 4/22, so don’t miss out! The show has 20 rings over 3 days, an Olympics theme, Breed Showcases Saturday and Sunday, Junior Exhibitor Ring, and Best in Show! 2024 Northeast Regional Show: Northeast Regional Feline Fanciers will be hosting the Northeast h Northeast Regional show on August 10-11, 2024, again in Binghamton, New York! The show will be a 2 day, 12 ring show, back at the SUNY Binghamton Ice Arena. The judges are posted on the show calendar and the show will be open to entries soon.
2023-2024 Regional Winners: It is never too early to begin planning for regional wins! Now is the time to make sure you have pictures!
The 2023-24 Northeast Regional winners will be honored at our Northeast Regional Banquet to be held on August 10, 2024 at the Holiday Inn in Binghamton, New York. Sponsorship Information, Menu, and more information all coming soon!

November 9-10, 2024: Cat Lovers of New England in Seekonk, Massachusetts (12 ring Back-to-Back Format show, with Siberian Breed Seminar, Junior Exhibitor Ring, and Best in Show).
November 23-24, 2024: CPE Cat Club in Mississauga (Toronto), Ontario (details coming soon) in. In partnership with CPE’s Christmas Pet Show.

Mentorship Committee:
TICA is working on building out our mentorship committee and are hopeful for additional volunteers to step up to help match mentors and mentees in the region, as well as mentors themselves! Please reach out to me if interested.
2024 Annual Northeast Representation in Hampton, Virginia
The Northeast Region is thrilled to be represented by Judge Aline Noel Garel at the 2024 TICA Annual, to be held in Hampton, Virginia! We are planning to sponsor her at the usual $500 level.
In addition, Heather Ellis has volunteered to be our Raffle Basket Czar! Every region traditionally donates a raffle basket to the annual, and the region with the best raffle basket gets a prize! Being an adjoining region to the Mid-Atlantic, I am hoping for a strong showing of donations emblematic of the Northeast Spirit, from Toronto to Quebec City, New York to Portland, and all the way to Labrador! More information to come.
